*** Update ***
On March 20, 2020, Governor Gretchen Whitmer signed Executive Order 2020-17 which placed a temporary restriction on non-essential dental procedures beginning March 21, 2020. We are permitted to address dental emergencies on an individual basis. Please call our office for emergency contact information. However, our office will remain closed and will not address routine and non-essential dental procedures until the state of emergency has passed and the temporary restriction is lifted by Governor Whitmer. We continue to wish you and yours good health.
*** Notice to Patients ***
During this time of uncertainty, we would like to reassure our patients of our continued concern and commitment to your health and safety. We are actively monitoring the Center for Disease Control’s (CDC), the State of Michigan’s, and Ingham County Health Department’s websites for up-to-date information. As of March 15, Ingham County has only one confirmed case of COVID-19. However, to ensure that our patients continue to be protected and receive safe, quality, and anxiety-free care, we are implementing new precautionary measures.
Before listing our new procedures, we would like to provide a reminder of our standard health and safety protocol. As always, our team uses a very effective, medical-grade surface disinfectant, CaviCide, which is successful in killing viruses, bacteria, and fungi. CaviCide is used to clean all surfaces, furniture, and equipment in our office and operatories. As always, all dental instruments and tools are sterilized, prior to use, in our autoclave, which uses steam under pressure to kill viruses, bacteria, and fungi.
In response to the information provided by the CDC, the State of Michigan, and the Ingham County Health Department, Dr. Day and his team have implemented the following precautionary measures:
· Patients contacting our office for an appointment will be asked if they recently experienced, or are currently experiencing, symptoms similar to that of COVID-19, if they have flu-like symptoms, or if they have recently visited a Level 3 country. Patients who have experienced, or are currently experiencing, these symptoms will be asked to delay visiting our office until an appropriate quarantine time has passed.
· Patients entering our office who are exhibiting signs of acute respiratory illness (e.g., fever, shortness of breath, coughing, difficulty breathing) will be asked to reschedule their appointment at a time when an appropriate quarantine time has passed.
· Sick employees will be asked to remain home until an appropriate quarantine time has passed.
We truly value our patients’ health, safety, and well-being. If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact our office at 517-393-8500. We wish you and your loved ones good health.
